Our Burner Mapping Project helps you find burner activities and projects in your local area.
Introduction
Welcome to Burner Network’s Burner Mapping Project! This all-volunteer effort seeks to use the Google Maps API to make it easier to see what’s going on in your neck of the woods.
Current data sets available in the map include:
- 2019 Burning Man Theme Camps using data publicly available here and prepared in consultation with Burning Man’s Placement Team
How to Use the Map
- Step #1: Enter a search address
- Step #2 (Optional): Enter a keyword along with your search address (note–keywords require a search address to work)
- Step #3: Select your search radius using the dropdown menu
- Step #4: Hit the orange Search button…be patient! It’s a large database and takes a bit to process your search
- Step #5: If you have any trouble, hit the Search button a second time and/or reload the page
- Step #6: Click the red icons to get more information on camps that appear in your search
Note: the entries at the bottom of the map only update when you perform a search. If you don’t want to perform a search, you can still move/zoom the map to your desired location. However, the icons for each location are stacked, and you won’t see all the icons for an area unless you perform a search.
